Learn Himalaya is in search of enthusiastic and empathetic individuals eager to contribute to our extraordinary community of lifelong learners in the Himalayan region. Our fellows will engage with local educational institutions and educators, utilizing innovative pedagogical approaches within a traditional setting. We value and promote critical thinking, the freedom to express oneself, and introspection in each school and student we collaborate with. We seek these qualities in our fellows as well.
We are on the lookout for fellows who can enhance our vibrant community and elevate the joy of learning. We desire self-reliant, accountable individuals with experience in teaching and travel. Our ideal candidates are imaginative educators who can impart wisdom to our students and offer support to our teaching staff. We seek inspirational role models who represent our values, advisors to aid our development, and cooperative team members to join us in our student-faculty soccer matches. We welcome a diverse range of applicants, inviting anyone with a zeal for adventure and education to join us.
The Program
In this fellowship program, prepare to be challenged to the fullest extent of your capabilities. You'll not only immerse yourself in the rich culture and heritage of the Himalayas but also have the opportunity to rediscover your passion for learning, forge innovative educational paths, and experience personal and professional growth.
Based on your unique strengths and past experiences, your role as a fellow will be tailored post-selection. Your responsibilities may range from assisting teachers in various classrooms, conducting your own lessons, or contributing to administrative duties. The application process and interview will provide you with chances to express your job preferences.
Upon your arrival in Gangtok, Sikkim, you will coordinate with our Fellowship Liaison to finalize your schedule, responsibilities, and projects. We anticipate our fellows to embrace adaptability and flexibility. Our goal is a reciprocal learning experience, and we encourage our fellows to adapt to the dynamic environment that characterizes this fellowship.
